Yooppe is an app designed to allow you to meet new people in total safety, and we continually conduct checks to ensure the best possible experience for you. However, we advise you to always be vigilant when meeting someone you don't know well. It is impossible to predict the behavior of others both inside and outside the app. Therefore, we have come up with some tips to help you avoid unpleasant situations.
Always avoid sending money (e.g., via bank transfer or Postepay top-ups). There is no reason for a user to ask you for money. If this happens, report it to us immediately. Once money is sent, it is challenging to recover. Never disclose any banking or financial information that could be used fraudulently.
We recommend never sharing personal information with people you have recently met. Never disclose your tax code, home address, workplace address, or your daily movements (e.g., places you frequent like bars or gyms). If you have children, avoid posting photos of them or discussing them immediately with other users. Do not disclose personal details such as their names, ages, or the school they attend.
Our advice is to get to know a person as much as possible within our chat before deciding to share your personal information such as phone number or other social media accounts you use. Remember that often those with bad intentions want to move the conversation outside the app. Do not hesitate to ask any questions to dispel doubts and deepen your understanding.
It may happen that someone attempting fraud claims to be in other countries and asks you for money for various reasons (e.g., paying bills, rent, medical expenses, or even money to move to your country). Be wary of ambiguous individuals who do not want to share a photo, evade your questions, or are willing to start a serious relationship without even knowing you.
If you feel that someone has behaved disrespectfully towards you, let us know by blocking and/or reporting the user in question. Here are some examples of violations:
Request for money
Underage users
Harassment, threats, and offensive messages
Inappropriate or violent behavior during chat interactions
Fake profiles with fraudulent purposes
Spam messages with links redirecting to external sites of any kind
Attempts to sell services or products
You can report any suspicious behavior directly from the app, from the user's profile. For more information, check our Terms and Conditions.
Choose a password with high complexity (at least one uppercase letter, a number, a special character), and never save the password when logging into your account from a public or shared computer. Remember that we never ask for your username or password unless you have contacted us for assistance at our customer care address. In that case, we might ask for the username (and only that; we never ask for the password) to help us find your profile in the system. If you receive an email of this kind, report it immediately as it may be a phishing attempt.
